Committee change over.

The outgoing committee for Rianta have provided services for the past 4 years, and started with the successful art fairs.

We are presently looking to fill the following positions:

Chairperson (curator - mentor)

Treasurer

Secretary

We welcome volunteers to come forward to fill the positions.  The outgoing committee will provide initial support.
The website Riantaart.com is hosted by www.register365.com. The Curatorial team of Annette Moloney and Maeve Mulrennan have been fully briefed on the Rianta activities and we eagerly await their report as to further ideas for networking in this digital age.

The Arts Award and Professional Development Award
The closing Date for completed Arts Award and Professional Development Award (artists only) is Tuesday February 3rd at 4p.m. and must be received in hard copy. Further details and application forms are available on www.cavanarts.ie.

Applications that are most successful are those where the community has sought the advice or engaged artists or professional arts organisations to support their work. The awards though modest can support a community group to kick start their arts activity. Additional fund raising through ticket sales, funding agencies or the individual or organisations own funds are most likely necessary even for those who are successful in the funding process. The Elected Representatives are committed to the arts award funding which is ring fenced by Senior Management. The professional development award provides funding to individual professional artists based in Cavan who earn a proportion or all their annual income through their artistic practice. This award is supported by the Arts Council. The award is intended to:
* Support professional development and stimulate an awareness of excellence in specific art forms.
*Encourage diversity of practice within and across art forms
*Support new ideas, innovation and emerging practitioners
*Support emerging and established artists for a specific need in the creation of new work
*Encourage interdisciplinary collaboration as appropriate.

Individual Awards will be in the region of €2000 and four will be awarded in 2015. The process is competitive.
